Electric vehicle adoption in West Virginia continues to increase. As of calendar year 2022, there were nearly 3,300 plug-in electric vehicles registered in the state consisting of fully electric Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). Around the state, the registration of plug-in electric vehicles is concentrated where most vehicles are registered - in the most populated areas of the state. This includes the Charleston-Huntington corridor, Morgantown-Clarksburg corridor, and the Martinsburg-Charles Town area, with some additional highlights in the Beckley and Wheeling areas.
