WVEAA members attended Fully Charged Live in Austin, Texas during February 2020 which had much greater turnout than expected. It was a great networking opportunity with national EAA staff and charging company executives. Electrify America execs were contacted afterward and encouraged to locate fast DC chargers at West Virginia locations.
Join us in contacting the Governor and local officials to encourage the state to use funding allocated from the VW Settlement to install DC fast chargers! See the letter WVEAA has sent, but please craft your own letter from your perspective on the importance of fast charging.
WVEAA member presents to WVU engineering class. The late January 2020 presentation was a primer on EVs, EV charging, and solar energy. The senior class project for several students is a solar parking canopy with EV charging. Hopefully, WVU will implement EV charging on their campus soon to keep pace with other schools like American Public University, Marshall University, and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
WVEAA facilitates contact between Fairmont State University and Dr. Chip Pickering's foundation to donate EV charging for the Fairmont campus. Those units have arrived and will be installed in the near future so we can look forward to another public EV charging option in the Fairmont area soon!

WVEAA participated in a statewide solar conference. On April 27, 2019, WVEAA board members Robert Fernatt and Marty Weirick presented at the fourth annual West Virginia Solar Congress in Charleston where we offered a variation of our presentation titled Driving on Sunshine.
